ASUO President Sam Dotters-Katz has proposed amendments to the ASUO Constitution that would add justices to the Constitution Court and grant the ASUO Senate greater power over the court and the elections board.

"This puts student government back on the side of the student and ends the corruption and broken practices of the past," said former Senate President Athan Papailiou, whom Dotters-Katz described as "the chief architect of these constitutional amendments." Papailiou does not currently hold a position in the ASUO, but he said he frequently advises Dotters-Katz and Vice President Johnny Delashaw.

Dotters-Katz and Papailiou's proposal would add two justices to the existing five-member court and require it to submit rules changes to the Senate for approval. It would also re-establish the Elections Board as an independent entity to avoid conflicts of interest that Papailiou said were endemic under previous administrations.

Papailiou said the amendments would also add transparency to the grievance process.
