Great video, Dylan. And I really appreciate CJ bringing all this up with his news article coverage. It's an issue that needs to be rethought very carefully. At one time UO had a rifle marksmanship team that competed nationally and took second place and included women, not just ravenous psychopaths.

Hey UOgrad08, I'm pretty certain that neither the weapon NOR the individual carrying it does the killing. It's the bullet that does the dirty work.BUT... if you want to get beyond just literalistic hairsplitting and lame cliches like "guns don't kill people, people do" and have a grownup conversation about a complex issue, then you have to acknowledge that guns enable people to kill each other more easily and efficiently: sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for evil, and sometimes just unintentionally.

If you are going to interview people on an issue as pressing as concealed weapons on campus, please make sure that you are interviewing individuals who are informed on the issue, not just people who say 'guns are bad because....they...they kill people'. I'm certain that the weapon itself is not doing the killing, but rather, the individual who is carrying it.
